Today I spent my morning with kids and parents at New Life for Girls. What a blessing this time is for me! I love watching the creativity flow, kids engaged, moms working side by side with their children, joy, chatter- it's such a special time of art and fellowship.
We talked about the story of Halloween- how many aspects of it are dark and ghoulish. We decided we would write our own beautiful and uplifting stories over it. We cut out pictures and words from magazines that reflected us- things we like or things that had meaning in our lives. Then we attached them along with various colored tissue paper in decoupage style. The results were wonderfully decorated pumpkins that will last us through Thanksgiving. Visit the gallery to see the kids' creations. They will look even more beautiful once the glue dries clear.
Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story-- those he redeemed from the hand of the foe... (Psalm 107:2 NIV)
